Raipur: The Chhattisgarh government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, recently hosted the ‘Mahila Samriddhi Sammelan’ on September 21, with the notable presence of Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi. This event served as a platform to underscore the state’s commitment to fostering self-reliance and employment opportunities for women through their engagement in self-help groups.
During the gathering, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel reiterated the state’s dedicated efforts in empowering women and enabling them to attain self-sufficiency. The government allocated a substantial sum of Rs 309.56 crore towards various welfare initiatives and took the opportunity to inaugurate several pivotal development projects.
These projects encompassed the construction of high-level bridges, the enhancement of rural and urban road infrastructure, improvements in healthcare facilities, and the construction of school and college buildings.
Deputy Chief Minister TS Singh Deo used the occasion to emphasize the pivotal role women play in the state’s progress and the significance of ensuring gender equality and equitable rights for both men and women throughout Chhattisgarh. This concerted focus on women’s empowerment and comprehensive development projects reflects the state government’s commitment to advancing the well-being and self-reliance of its female population, thereby fostering social and economic progress in the region.
