Bhilai: Speaking at the Women’s Prosperity Conference held at Jayanti Stadium in Bhilai Nagar, Chhattisgarh, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel underscored the historical significance of Bhilai, closely associated with the steel plant built by Jawaharlal Nehru. He expressed his reverence for the power of women, acknowledging their pivotal role in the state of Chhattisgarh. Baghel emphasized that women are leading the way, whether it’s in household responsibilities or office work.

Baghel highlighted that women have always enjoyed equal status in Chhattisgarh, actively participating in both employment and domestic chores. The state has a long-standing tradition of women holding high positions within families and society, with Chhattisgarh also excelling in gender balance. Women in the state manage a myriad of responsibilities, from caring for children and pursuing education to handling household chores and full-time jobs. Baghel recognized their exceptional dedication, including preparing meals for the family after a day of work.

The Chief Minister further discussed the state government’s efforts to bolster the economic well-being of farmers. He cited the presence of various initiatives showcased at the conference, such as the establishment of Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) centres and garment factories. These endeavours aim to foster economic prosperity in the region. Baghel mentioned government actions like distributing ration cards and providing reduced electricity bills, exemplifying their commitment to ensuring that every citizen feels the presence and support of the government. Even during the challenging period of the COVID-19 pandemic, the government took proactive steps to shield people from economic downturns.

In his address, Baghel celebrated the contributions of women to the growth and development of Chhattisgarh while affirming the government’s dedication to enhancing the economic well-being of its citizens.
