After being in theatres for 13 days, the blockbuster movie “Jawan” starring Shah Rukh Khan has achieved a milestone. It has crossed the Rs 500 crore mark at the box office, setting a speed record. In comparison, Shah Rukh’s previous hit film, “Pathaan “, took 18 days to reach this accomplishment. Currently, “Jawan” has earned Rs 507 crore in India. Industry trackers estimate that it made around Rs 14 crore on its day, bringing its total domestic earnings to Rs 458 crore.

Now, “Jawan” is all set to challenge the all-time record set by “Pathaan,” which grossed Rs 543 crore. It is expected that “Jawan” will surpass this milestone within a few days. On a scale, “Pathaan” earned over Rs 1000 crore while “Jawan” is on track to cross the Rs 900 crore mark today.

Together these two films have collectively grossed Rs 2000 crore—an achievement. By delivering two movies that have each grossed over $100 million in a calendar year Shah Rukh Khan solidifies his position as the Bollywood actor with such a feat.

Directed by Atlee and starring Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi, the movie “Jawan” has been continuously breaking records, many of which were previously held by “Pathaan.” Not only did the film establish standards for the highest opening day and opening week, but it also became the quickest Bollywood movie to surpass milestones like Rs 100 crore, Rs 200 crore, Rs 300 crore, Rs 400 crore and now Rs 500 crore.
