Baramulla: On a Saturday morning, security forces successfully neutralized two terrorists during a confrontation in the Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir. The ongoing operation, aimed at countering terrorism, is taking place near Uri, close to the Line of Control (LoC).

The Kashmir Police Zone shared information through a social media post stating that an encounter had started between terrorists and the Army & Baramulla Police in Uri, Hathlanga in Baramulla district.

The police confirmed that two terrorists were killed during the operation. Further details will be provided as the situation evolves according to their statement.

This development follows a discovery in Baramulla, where a terror module belonging to Lashkar e Taiba (LeT) was uncovered. Two individuals associated with militants were. A significant amount of weapons and ammunition were seized from them. The arrested individuals have been identified as Zaid Hassan Malla from Mir Sahib Baramulla and Mohammad Arif Channa from Stadium Colony Baramulla. 

They were smuggling arms and ammunition across borders under the guidance of terror handlers based in Pakistan. Their activities facilitated the distribution of these materials to LeT terrorists for carrying out acts of terror.

In the Anantnag, authorities are currently conducting an operation to eliminate terrorists who have taken refuge in an area located in hilly terrain.
