New Delhi: On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with Chief Ministers of high burden states on Covid-19 situation. Chief Ministers of Maharashtra, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Delhi were present in the meeting.
The PM said that it is very necessary to fight the pandemic with collective power. By united efforts and united strategy, India can achieve success during the second wave of Covid-19. He assured full support of the Centre to all the states in this fight. The Ministry of Health is also in touch with the states and issuing necessary advice from time to time.
During the meeting, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal requested the PM to direct the Chief Ministers of all states to facilitate the transport of oxygen tankers coming to Delhi. The CM said, “Oxygen supply scheduled to come to Delhi from Odisha, West Bengal be airlifted or brought through oxygen express”. The PM said in this matter that every state should ensure the movement of oxygen tankers without any halt.
The PM stated that the vaccination program should not slow down in this deteriorating situation. So far, the Centre has provided more than 15 crore vaccine doses to the States free of cost. From May 1, citizens above 18 years of age will be eligible for the Covid vaccines. Along with all the measures, hospital safety is much important.
