New Delhi: Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh tested positive for coronavirus today and has been admitted to AIIMS at 5pm today.

AIIMS said in its statement that Manmohan Singh has been admitted to the Trauma Center.

The 89-year-old has mild symptoms. He has been vaccinated with both doses of coronavirus. However, sources said, hospitalisation was needed because of old and co-morbidities. The former PM had undergone a bypass surgery in 2009.

Many leaders, including Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, senior Congress leader Kamal Nath, Youth Congress President Srinivas BV and Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, prayed for former Prime minister’s speedy recovery.
