Madhya Pradesh: State a Tough COVID Competitor; Indore and Bhopal in the Top 10 Affected Cities

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh reported its deadliest count in the past 24 hours. Around 11,269 cases have been registered by the MP Health Department with 66 people losing life to the novel virus. 

Indore, reported as the largest hotspot during the first wave, has now lost its rank to Bhopal. Both the cities are now under the COVID hotspots of the state. In the past 30 days Bhopal registered around 7,359 infections per 10 lakh population.  While in Indore, 7,027 cases were recorded. Ranking sixth and seventh respectively, these states fall under the avid hotspots after Nashik, Nagpur, Pune, Mumbai, Bengaluru. 

 The transition rate in the state has been more than 21% for the fourth consecutive day on Friday.  According to the health department report, 7 deaths each were reported in Indore and Jabalpur and 5 in Gwalior. Jhabua and Vidisha reported 4 deaths, Betul, Ujjain, Rajgarh and Ratlam observed 3 each. The cumulative mortality count stands at 4,425. 

With 59,183 active cases in the state, the health care department faces daunting tasks to arrange medical aid for the affected. Officials claim the active count of the state to shoot up to 1 lakh by the end of April.
