Since 2020, last October, the number of Covid-19 cases increased at an alarming rate. On Friday, The Department of Health (DOH) of the Philippines reported almost 2,651 new Covid-19 cases. At this point, the total number of cases so far confirmed in the Southeast Asian country stood at 571,327.

The Philippines is such a country where a population is about 110 million. But, since the disease emerged in January last year, only 8 million people have been tested so far. Along with that, 561 patients have recovered from this deadly virus and the total number of recoveries has emerged to 524,582.

China has donated a batch of the Sinovac Covid-19 vaccine to the Philippines. But till now, it has not arrived in the country. The Government is trying in every way to get the vaccine ready from China. A major report stated that the vaccine is expected to arrive in the Philippines on Sunday. So, the people of the Philippines are expecting a vaccination rollout by the Government next week.

The Government is planning to inoculate 70 million people of the Philippines with the Covid-19 vaccine. To buy over 150 million vaccine doses, they are even discussing this matter with the pharmaceutical. The Government has also announced the health workers who are working in the frontline will be the first to get inoculated with the Covid-19 vaccine.
