Mumbai: After Disha Ravi was “picked up” from her residence in Bangalore; the Cyber Cell issued an arrest warrant against Mumbai-based lawyer Nikita Jacob and engineer Shantanu Muluk.
Shantanu Muluk and Nikita Jacob are both residents of Maharashtra.
The duo has filed a petition in Bombay High Court seeking protection from arrest after a non-bailable warrant was issued in their connection with the “toolkit” Greta shared.
On Monday, they approached the Aurangabad bench of the Bombay High Court seeking transit anticipatory bail. Justice PD Naik will hear Nikita’s Plea, while Muluk’s plea will be mentioned before Justice Vibha Kankanvadi.
The Delhi Police claims that a Canada-based woman, Puneet had put the detained activist Disha Ravi and the other two in touch with Poetic Justice Foundation on 11th January. They had a Zoom meeting before Republic Day to plan on a social media buzz on the farmers’ tractor rally. They also claim the absence of both the accused at their respective residences.
Political Altercation: Nikita Jacob in Plea
Ms. Jacob claims that the Delhi police officials searched her house and questioned her for 13 hours and seized gadgets and documents. She requests for an FIR copy in her plea,
Nikita has been practicing in Bombay HC since 2014.
Destructive for Life: Shantanu Muluk in Plea
Muluk filed a petition through advocate Satej Jadhav. In his petition he says, “will be destructive for his life and family to carry a false blot of being anti-national”. Says he only wanted to support the farmers.
