Ceaseless Illegal Coal Trade in Sarguja district; Smugglers Digging Pits, Large Quantity of Coal Sneaked

Chhattisgarh: Village Nagada, Parsodhi in Lakhpur police station area of Sarguja district witnesses Illegal mining of coal ceaselessly. Even after taking action against bootleggers, illegal quarrying is being mindlessly pursued,

A large quantity of coal is being sneaked along the River Gumgra, Nagmada Parsodi in Lakhpur area. This smuggled coal is being transported through bikes and bicycles and other vehicles and is stored accordingly.

The police have started to take action on the information received accordingly. But the fear of unauthorized mining is visible in the people, perhaps that is why the big smugglers are digging a large quantity of coal by digging pits with the help of villagers. It is then mined in nearby brick kilns and coal depots.

The responsible mineral authorities are seen abetted to this illegal mineral extraction. In fact, it is believed the smuggling is being carried out in abetment with the officials in charge. Dozens of villagers were seen hassling when media reached the scene.

Lakhpur police station in-charge Shishirkant said that he has initiated strict action against such activities and has also seized several tractors.

Despite several quintals of illegal coal possession being acquired; smugglers do not turn up until they receive a notice.
