Raipur: A case was filed against Shambhu Bin at the Khamtarai Police Station area in Raipur, in which Shambhu was accused of doing misdeed with his step-daughter. The court has sentenced 20-years of imprisonment to the accused, along with a fine of Rs.70,000/-. The hearing of the case was performed under Rajiv Kumar, the judge of First Track Court. 

Reportedly, Shambhu Bin (47), dwelling at Rawabhata in Khamtarai, performed misdeed with his step-daughter on December 14, 2020. After a case was filed, the Chhattisgarh police booked the accused at once, and his case was presented at the court under Section 376 and POSCO Act. Police prepared the challan within 48 hours of the arrest and presented the case to the fast track court by December 16.

The court started its trial on the case on January 19, 2021, and delivered the hearing within 10 days, on January 29. The case was investigated by Sub-Inspector Ajay Jha, under the direction of Inspector Sanjay Pundir.

The personnel involved in the investigation hope that such exemplary punishment is necessary for society, to reduce the rate of sexual assaults happening every day, most of which do not come into light due to the victims’ inability to gather the courage to fight and get the assaulter punished.
