The jail officials in Ranchi on January 23 were informed about the imprisoned RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav’s worsened health, followed by which the officials have given permission to shift him to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in the national capital.

The permission was granted by the jail officials and preparations were started to transfer Yadav to AIIMS, New Delhi for better treatment, after the Board of doctors at RIMS (Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences) decided the same through a discussion panel.

“Lalu Prasad is having trouble breathing for the last two days. On Friday, he was found to be having pneumonia. Considering his age, we have decided to shift him to AIIMS Delhi on the advice of doctors for better treatment”, stated RIMS Director Dr. Kamaleshwar Prasad. He further revealed – “Lalu Prasad Yadav was slated to be shifted to the AIIMS today and that the authorities and his family were arranging an air ambulance for shifting him”.

Earlier on Friday, LP Yadav’s son Tejashwi Yadav had stated to the media persons – “We want better treatment for him, but it is for doctors to analyze what treatment can be provided here after all the test reports come. His situation is serious. I will meet the Chief Minister on Saturday”.

Noteworthily, Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad Yadav has been serving imprisonment after he was convicted for the Bihar fodder scam case. Lately, he has been undergoing treatment as he suffers from a lung infection.
