Kolkata: Renowned Cardiologist Dr. Devi Shetty met the medical team of nine doctors on Tuesday, who have been attending Ganguly to discuss further course of action in his medical treatment at Woodlands Hospital, Kolkata.

“His heart is today as strong as it was when Sourav was 20 years old. I want everyone to understand that he didn’t have a major cardiac event which has damaged his heart, he has a very, very strong heart”, stated Dr. Shetty.

BCCI president and former Team India captain Sourav Ganguly, who underwent angioplasty after suffering a mild heart attack, is in a stable condition and his vital health parameters are normal, a doctor said at the hospital where he was admitted on Tuesday.

Doctors at the private hospital reached a consensus that the 48- years-old cricketer, who has been diagnosed with ‘Triple Vessel Disease’, will be discharged on Wednesday, and thereafter he will be monitored at home, and the second angioplasty, which he might have to undergo, could be performed at a ‘later stage’. Dr. Rupali Basu further gave information about the health of the India captain and said that he would be ready for procedures or medical intervention after 2-3 weeks.
