Home Minister Shah’s Visit to West Bengal Scheduled for December 26

Kolkata: After a 2-days tour to West Bengal, Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s short visit to the state of Assam has been scheduled for December 26. During his visit to the state, several party members from the opposition groups will be resigning from their party to join BJP.

The Home Minister, during his visit to the state, will also hold an important meeting with the leaders of the ‘Saffron Party’, in order to discuss some vital strategies for the 126-member Assam upcoming assembly polls, which is to be held in April or May of the next year; besides, he will review the preparations of the leading party for the same.

Baijayant Panda, the Assam-in-Charge of the BJP, is pretty hopeful about the victory of the party. Panda, referring to the election campaign of BJP as “the mission of 100 plus seats”, asserted that – “The BJP along with its allies would retain power in Assam and would secure at least 100 seats in the next year’s Assembly elections”.

It is noteworthy that, Shah recently had been through his West Bengal tour, where he saw significant hopes of a handover of the power from the Mamata Banerjee-led TMC (Trinamool Congress) to the centrally leading ‘Saffron Party’.
