Chhattisgarh: Minor Girl Accuses 2 Policemen of Doing Misdeed; Accused Personnel Arrested

Raipur: A minor girl from Sarkanda in Bilaspur district has accused two police personnel from Kota police station and Pachpedi police station of doing misdeed with her. The accused personnel were arrested based on the girl’s statement. Bilaspur Superintendent of Police, Prashant Agarwal has given a suspension order for the accused personnel. 

The incident took place earlier this year, on November 5. The police personnel have currently been investigating the matter. 

According to J.P. Gupta, the officer-in-charge of Sarkanda police station, the victim teenager had also given a written complaint against an auto-rickshaw driver from Bahtarai, named Panchuram Sahu. The auto-rickshaw driver was booked and sent to imprisonment.

The victim again submitted an application on December 5, demanding punishment for the misdeeds committed by police personnel Vijendra Rajput and Deva Kemwat posted in Kota police station and Pachpedi police station respectively. The two personnel have been booked on the basis of the victim’s written complaint.

Legal actions are being taken against the accused personnel under Section 376 and POSCO Act. Departmental actions are also being taken against the accused personnel, they have already been suspended by S.P. Prashant Agarwal.
