Tamil Nadu: The cyclonic storm turned into a deep depression and weakened over the Gulf of Munnar near Ramanathapuram district. According to IMD, the depression has remained stationary for the past 30 hours and it is likely to remain the same for the next 12 hours. 

According to IMD, heavy to very heavy downpour is likely to take place over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, over the southern coast of Andhra Pradesh and Lakshadweep during the next 24 hours. Puducherry, Kerala, and Mahe are already having heavy rainfall and severe waterlogging in several areas, and it’s going to continue.

Cyclone Burevi, which de-intensified into a deep depression, remained practically stationary for almost 18 hours over the Gulf of Munnar, before weakening in the same region, which is situated near Ramanathapuram district of Tamil Nadu. “The depression is likely to remain practically stationary over the same region and weaken further by Saturday and move into the Arabian Sea”, IMD said earlier.
