KOLKATA: West Bengal BJP Vice-President, Raju Banerjee has placed a statement that “the police force in the state does not extend any help to check the ‘Gunda Raj’ and if BJP comes to power, the party will make the police lick boots”. He countered this statement, attacking the Bengal Government that led to a political slug between the Trinamool party and the BJP leaders.

Speaking at an event in Durgapur on Tuesday, Raju Banerjee said, “See what is happening in West Bengal nowadays, ‘Gunda Raj’ is prevailing in the state? Police are not extending any help. What should be done with such police personnel? We will make them lick boots”.

BJP leaders have been protesting against the lawlessness in Bengal under the Mamata Banerjee government. BJP national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya on Tuesday asserted that ‘security for women is the worst in the state’. He convened that, despite having a woman chief minister in West Bengal, the security of women is worse in Bengal compared to the other states.
