Ayodhya: On Saturday, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath visited Ayodhya to take stock of preparation for the Bhumi Pujan(foundation stone laying ceremony), which is scheduled on 5th August, at the Ram Janmabhoomi premises. He promised a grand function for this ceremony as this ‘momentous occasion has come after 500 years’.

The Chief Minister began his Ayodhya tour with a trip to the Ram Janmabhoomi complex that will be the venue of the August 5 ceremony  that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also scheduled to attend. He was seen offering prayers to Lord Ram at the site.

Later, Yogi Adityanath met with officials and religious leaders over preparations for the ceremony.

“There will be ‘deepotsava’ in all houses and temples on the nights of 4th and 5th August,” he said at the meeting attended by the Ayodhya MP, MLAs, members of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust and local administration.

While no official schedule has been issued, Yogi Adityanath is likely to meet with officials and religious leaders over preparations for the August 5 ceremony that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also scheduled to attend.

According to the president of the Temple Trust, Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, on August 5 Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of the Ram temple in Ayodhya at 12.15PM at Ram Janmabhoomi.

After the bhoomi Pujan ceremony the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya will begin in which CM of many states, Ministers from the Union cabinet and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat will also participate in the function. Due to the coronavirus pandemic only 200 people are allowed to attend the ceremony a trust member has said that all social distancing preventive measures will be followed at the event.

In November 2019, The Supreme Court had handed over all the responsibility to the central Government for the construction of a Ram temple.

Order by the central government to look upon the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya and hand over the responsibility  to the 15 members of Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.

On 5 February, The PM had announced the foundation of a trust for construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya.
