New Delhi: In a shocking incident, Harpreet Gill, a 36-year senior manager associated with the well-known e-commerce platform Amazon, was brutally attacked and shot by unidentified individuals late on Tuesday night in Delhi.
This horrifying event occurred at around 11:30 p.m. in the Subhash Vihar neighborhood of Bhajanpura. Both Gill and his uncle were targeted by the attackers, resulting in Gill tragically losing his life due to his injuries. Upon reaching Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital, medical professionals pronounced him dead, while his uncle received attention for his severe injuries.
Providing details of that night, the injured uncle shared with authorities that a group of five attackers specifically targeted them and opened fire, causing harm. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (northeast) Joy Tirkey, the fatal bullet entered Gills’s head from behind his ear on the side. Exited from the opposite side.
Gills’s uncle is a member of the Bhajanpura community and runs an eatery there. He also suffered a gunshot wound to his head. He was quickly admitted to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Hospital for treatment.
Based on information gathered by the police far, it appears that the victims were riding a motorcycle when they were unexpectedly ambushed by five attackers who were traveling on a scooter and another motorcycle. As the investigation progresses, the authorities are working diligently to obtain and review surveillance footage from locations in order to identify those.
