Sriharikota: The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) informed today that the Chandrayaan-3 which is scheduled for soft-landing on the lunar surface on August 23 is right on schedule. Sharing a video of the images of the moon captured by the Lander Position Detection Camera (LPDC), ISRO wrote on X “LPDC images assist the Lander Module in determining its position (latitude and longitude) by matching them against an onboard moon reference map”.

As India is preparing to etch history in space, actor Prakash Raj found himself in legal trouble in Karnataka after he was booked for mocking Chandrayaan-3, India’s ambitious lunar mission. A police complaint was lodged against the actor after he posted on platform X about the Chandrayaan-3 mission by the leaders of Hindu organizations at the Banahatti police station located in Bagalkote district in Karnataka. On August 20, Prakash Raj posted the video mocking Chandrayaan-3.

While every Indian is excited about the lunar mission, the Russian space agency blamed the nation’s decades-long pause in lunar exploration for the touted lunar mission that crashed into the moon. The pilotless Luna-25 had been scheduled to land on the moon on Monday while aiming to become the first spacecraft to touch down on the south pole of the moon, an area where scientists believe crucial reserves of frozen water and precious elements may exist.
