Katni: Four children tragically lost their lives in an incident when they drowned in a pond located in the Katni district of Madhya Pradesh. According to officials from the Salimabad police station, this distressing event took place on Sunday. Unfolded in Nagwa village.

These young enthusiastic children went to the pond for a bath, of its depth. Unfortunately, they ventured far. Found themselves in grave danger. In an attempt to rescue them, local villagers rushed to their aid. They were unable to save these lives. The police were promptly notified about this heart-wrenching incident. Quickly arrived at the scene.

The four children who lost their lives have been identified as Shashi Pratap Singh, Shaurya Singh, Mayank Yadav, and Dharamveer Vanshkar. Their ages ranged between 12 and 13 years old. Through efforts with divers, the bodies were recovered from the pond.

Upon learning about this incident, SDM Bahoriband Pradeep Mishra, along with district officials, immediately reached the location. Mishra expressed sorrow over the event. Conveyed his heartfelt condolences; “It is truly heartbreaking that these innocent children encountered such a fate while being unaware of how deep this pond was located a few kilometers away, from their village.”

Assurance has been given that support will be provided to the grieving families during this time. “In response, to this incident the district administration under the guidance of the district magistrate has pledged to offer a support of Rs 4,000 to every family for managing funeral expenses. Additionally a sum of Rs 4 lakh will be provided to each family by tomorrow evening, as assistance ” Mishra elaborated.
