Mumbai: The Crime Branch’s Unit 9 in Mumbai successfully apprehended two individuals for possessing weapons, one of whom was already involved in a rape investigation. The individuals taken into custody are identified as Arbaz Khan, 23 and Tabish Hussain, aged 22. Both originate from the Badaun District of Uttar Pradesh. Their arrest took place in Andheri West on August 9th.

After receiving information about the duo’s intentions, officials from Mumbai’s Crime Branch Unit 9 swiftly organized an operation near Bombay YMCA, located on New Link Road in D.N. Nagar Andheri West. It was suspected that the duo were involved in weapon transportation, and the operation aimed to catch their hand. 

The mission was successful, as both individuals were captured. Police Inspector Daya Nayak, who leads the Mumbai Crime Branch Unit 9, orchestrated and supervised the operation.

During the arrest, officers from the Crime Branch managed to seize items from the suspect’s possession. These included a made pistol, 20 rounds of ammunition, for the pistol three steel Rampuri switchblades and a homemade iron weapon commonly known as a ‘karat’.The recent arrests serve as a testament to the dedication and efforts of the Mumbai police in safeguarding the city against activities and potential dangers. The confiscation of these weapons has undoubtedly prevented incidents that could have occurred if they had been used.
