Raipur: The unique geographical position of Chhattisgarh, bordered by states such as Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh, presents challenges. This is particularly significant in relation to the activities of the Naxalites. The dense forests spanning these states provide a hiding place for the Naxals, enabling them to cross borders after carrying out operations in one state. Whenever action is taken against them in one state they swiftly. Seek refuge in a neighbouring state. It’s not Chhattisgarh that faces this issue; the surrounding states also witness their presence and actions.

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel expressed his concerns about the situation. Criticized the BJP for their treatment of communities. According to him, the BJP has had a history with tribes. He alleged that over the 15 years, many tribes were wrongly labeled as Naxals by the BJP, leading to imprisonments, physical harm inflicted upon them and dubious encounters orchestrated against them. Additionally, Baghel accused the BJP of acquiring lands and violating their rights.

In contrast to this stance by the BJP, Baghel highlighted his administration’s efforts aimed at uplifting and empowering communities in Chhattisgarh. The comments made by the Chief Minister highlight the underlying problems that are not related to security but also have an impact, on the rights and welfare of the people, in that area.

These indigenous communities often find themselves in situations. They expect the government to provide reassurances and take necessary steps to honour and safeguard their customs, rights and overall welfare.
