Bhopal: During a series of operations conducted by the Lokayukta department in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, they discovered assets valued at Rs 10 crore at the properties owned by Ashfaq Ali, an employee of the health department. Notably, Ali had been employed as a storekeeper at Rajgarh district hospital. He was receiving a salary of around Rs 45,000 at the time of his retirement, as confirmed by Lokayukta SP.
The raids uncovered not amounts of cash but also luxurious household amenities. His residence yielded gold and silver items of Rs 46 lakh and cash amounting to Rs 20 lakh. Ashfaq Alis house in Bhopal showcases opulence with its state-of-the-art kitchen, a chandelier worth lakhs of rupees, high-end furniture including plush sofas and ornate showcases, a modern refrigerator, and a large television.
It is important to highlight the difference between Ali’s salary and his amassed wealth. These findings from the raids have raised suspicions considering his position as a storekeeper. As investigations are ongoing, an authoritative police source informed PTI that the total value of assets associated with Ali could potentially reach around Rs 10 crore.
