New Delhi: Amidst the blame game in politics surrounding the violence in Haryana originating in Mewat and spreading towards Delhi, Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala made an important statement highlighting the historical significance of the region. According to him, the people of Mewat have a history of resilience and patriotism towards India. They did not bravely resist Mughal invaders in the past. Also played a vital role in India’s fight for independence.

The violence that occurred on July 31st was triggered by an attack on a Hindu procession in Nuh, now known as Mewat, which has a majority population. This incident quickly escalated, leading to unrest in parts of Haryana, including Gurugram. Tragically during this two-day period of violence, five lives were lost shops were set ablaze. Many others suffered injuries.

While Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar suggested a conspiracy behind the escalating violence Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Singh Chautala emphasized that the people of Mewat have consistently shown their loyalty to India. He highlighted their legacy of bravery and resistance against forces, like past Mughal invasions.

The Deputy CM also spoke about the incident regarding the rally that was attacked, mentioning that the organizers failed to provide all the details, about the event, such as an estimation of the number of participants. He believed that due to this lack of information, extensive damage occurred, and he emphasized that those who caused violence would face the consequences.
