New Delhi: Shraddha Walker’s murder case took a turn when her father, Vikas Madan Walker appeared in a Delhi court as a witness for the prosecution. The tragic incident occurred on May 18 of the year when Shraddha, who was in a live-in relationship with the accused individual named Poonawala, was allegedly strangled to death. Shockingly the accused then dismembered her body. Stored the parts in a refrigerator before disposing of them at locations across Delhi to mislead both the authorities and the public.
During his cross-examination, before Additional Sessions Judge Manisha Khurana Kakkar, Vikas Walker shared his encounter with the police. On November 11 2022, officials at Mehrauli police station asked him if he recognized Poonawala, to which he confirmed and revealed their three-year relationship. He informed the police that Poonawala frequently quarreled with Shraddha and physically assaulted her.
In a revelation, Vikas Walker disclosed how Poonawala admitted to the murder and provided details of how he disposed of Shraddha’s body. The accused confessed to strangling her during an argument at his residence in Chhatarpur on May 18 2022. After committing the murder he even bought tools such, as a saw, spare blades and a hammer to further dismember her body before packing her wrists in a bag.
Vikas Walker also shared his recollection of the encounter, with Poonawala following the passing of his wife in January 2020. During that time Shraddha introduced the accused to their home in Mumbai. While there was some resistance, from the family regarding their relationship Shraddha remained firm in asserting her independence.
