India has been facing monsoon rains resulting in floods and waterlogging in states. The affected regions include Telangana, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi. To tackle this situation, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has provided alerts and warnings to help residents prepare for the rainfall and its potential consequences.
Telangana has witnessed flooding and waterlogging as a result of these rains. Similarly, Gujarat is also grappling with rainfall that has caused waterlogged streets and disrupted life. Himachal Pradesh faces impacts from the monsoon season, with an orange alert issued by IMD for the state and warnings of rainfall in various districts.
The situation in Rajasthan results from bountiful rains during this monsoon season, causing numerous dams to be full or overflowing. The Water Resources Department in the state has reported storing a significant amount of water in reservoirs.
The monsoon mayhem has not spared the northern region, including the Leh area in Ladakh. Flash floods caused by a cloudburst have damaged roads and caused waterlogging in Leh town, impacting local infrastructure and buildings.
To manage the adverse weather conditions, authorities have taken preventive measures such as declaring holidays for schools and colleges in certain districts and issuing advisories to avoid waterlogged areas and vulnerable structures.
Residents in the affected regions must stay informed about weather updates and follow safety guidelines provided by local authorities to minimize risks and ensure their safety during heavy rainfall.
