Kargil Vijay Diwas is a national holiday in India that is celebrated on July 26 every year to commemorate the victory of the Indian Armed Forces over Pakistani intruders in the Kargil War of 1999.

The Kargil War was a 110-day conflict between India and Pakistan that took place in the Kargil district of Jammu and Kashmir. The war began on May 1, 1999, when Pakistani troops infiltrated Indian-controlled territory and occupied several strategic heights along the Line of Control (LoC).

The Indian Armed Forces launched a counter-offensive on July 26, 1999, and successfully evicted the Pakistani intruders from Indian territory. The war ended on July 26, 1999, with a decisive victory for India.

Kargil Vijay Diwas is a day to remember the sacrifices of the Indian soldiers who fought and died in the Kargil War. It is also a day to celebrate the victory of the Indian Armed Forces and to reaffirm our commitment to national security.

On Kargil Vijay Diwas, we pay homage to the brave soldiers who laid down their lives for our country. We also remember the families of the soldiers who lost their lives in the war. Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also paid tribute to the martyrs of war.
