New Delhi: The Parliament witnessed ongoing tensions between the Centre and the Opposition on Tuesday, 25th July, as the issue of discussion on the situation in Manipur remained a major point of contention.

The previous day saw the suspension of AAP MP Sanjay Singh from the Rajya Sabha, which further escalated the already charged atmosphere. In response to the suspension, Opposition MPs staged an overnight protest at the Parliament premises.

As the logjam in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha continued, discussions on the Manipur situation remained a crucial sticking point. The Opposition demands that Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally addresses the Parliament on the matter, followed by a comprehensive discussion.

While the government asserts its willingness to engage in discussions on the Manipur situation, it points out that the Opposition is hindering the smooth functioning of the Parliament. As a result, both houses have been adjourned until 2 pm.

In an attempt to break the deadlock, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has called for a meeting of floor leaders on Tuesday. The hope is to find a resolution and pave the way for constructive debates and discussions on the critical issues facing the nation.

The situation remains tense, and all eyes are on the outcomes of the meeting and the future proceedings of the Parliament as the Manipur issue remains a point of contention between the government and the Opposition.
