Mahendragiri: On the 19th of July the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) reached an achievement as they successfully conducted a test, for the Gaganyaan Human Spaceflight Mission, at the ISRO Propulsion Complex (IPRC) located in Mahendragiri, Tamil Nadu. The mission’s objective is to send a crew of three members to a 400 km orbit for a three-day mission and ensure their safe return to Earth, with a planned landing in the Indian Sea Waters.

The Gaganyaan Human Spaceflight Mission is a crucial step for India as it aims to demonstrate the nation’s capability for human spaceflight. In order to accomplish this the spacecraft is fitted with five apogee motor (LAM) engines, each generating a force of 440 Newtons and 16 reaction control system (RCS) thrusters which produce a thrust of 100 N.

The successful testing of this mission brings India closer to realizing its dream of manned space exploration and strengthening its position in the global space community. It marks a step, in India’s space initiatives and has attracted attention and admiration from the global space community.
