RAIPUR– Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Raipur, where he laid the groundwork for and inaugurated many development projects totaling roughly Rs 7,500 crore. The initiatives included the launch of five National Highway projects worth Rs 6,400 crore, the completion of the 103km-long Raipur-Khariar Road railway line doubling for Rs 750 crore, and the establishment of a 17km-long railway line connecting Keoti with Antagarh, costing Rs 290 crore.
Additionally, the Prime Minister dedicated a 60,000 metric-tonne bottling plant of the Indian Oil Corporation in Korba, constructed at a cost of over Rs 130 crore. He also flagged off the Antagarh-Raipur train via video link and initiated the distribution of 75 lakh Ayushman Bharat cards.
PM Modi emphasized the importance of these projects for Chhattisgarh’s development journey throughout his address, stressing the state’s accomplishments in infrastructure and connectivity. He emphasized the necessity of infrastructure development for a region’s progress and well-being, as it gives ease of living, job possibilities, and rapid development.
The Prime Minister praised the federal government’s substantial work in Chhattisgarh over the last nine years, notably increasing rail, road, and telecom connections. He mentioned the expansion of mobile connectivity to tribal villages and the reduced travel time facilitated by new economic corridors. The Raipur-Vishakhapatnam Economic Corridor was identified as a lifeline for the region, connecting various districts and enhancing accessibility to remote areas.
PM Modi expressed confidence in the transformative impact of these infrastructure projects, contributing to Chhattisgarh’s overall development and progress.
