New Delhi: The Delhi High Court today pronounced an order on the bail plea of AAP leader Manish Sisodia, held for his alleged role in the money laundering case relating to the alleged irregularities in Delhi government’s excise policy.

Justice Dinesh Kumar Sharma pronounced the order on the bail plea. The Delhi High Court rejected the bail petition by former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and said that the possibility of evidence tampering and influencing witnesses cannot be ruled out due to the political position the accused hold.

Besides, Sisodia, the high court shall also pass orders on the bail plea of businessman Abhishek Boinpally, Benoy Babu, and Vijay Nair, the co-accused in the money laundering case.

Manish Sisodia was arrested on February 26 and has been in police custody since then. Earlier on June 3, the Delhi High Court had permitted the former Deputy Chief Minister to visit his wife, who battles multiple sclerosis, on the scheduled day between 10 am and 5 pm.

However, before Mr. Sisodia could reach his home, his wife’s health deteriorated, requiring immediate hospitalization. The AAP leader, often regarded as Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s right-hand man had sought bail for his wife’s health condition.
