Bhopal– A significant weather warning has been issued for Madhya Pradesh, as heavy rainfall is expected to affect approximately 60% of the state over the next four days. The impact of the approaching storm is predicted to be felt in 31 districts, including prominent cities like Bhopal, Gwalior, and Jabalpur. Chambal and Sagar’s regions are expected to experience wet conditions on Wednesday. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhopal has precisely forecasted heavy downpours in districts such as Bhind, Morena, Sheopur Kalan, Katni, Panna, Damoh, Sagar, Tikamgarh, and Niwari on Wednesday. Moreover, the weather patterns are set to change in Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Gwalior, and Jabalpur as the monsoon is expected to make its way into the state within the next few days.

The ongoing storm named ‘Biparjoy,’ which has already wreaked havoc in Gujarat and Rajasthan, is also active in Madhya Pradesh. The districts bordering Rajasthan have already witnessed rainfall due to its influence. The Meteorological Department has issued heavy rain warnings for the Gwalior-Chambal region for the next few days, with Bhopal, Ujjain, Sagar, Jabalpur, Narmadapuram, and Sagar divisions also likely to receive substantial rainfall. Precipitation of over two inches within 24 hours is anticipated, accompanied by wind speeds exceeding 60 km per hour.

Recent observations indicate that Bhopal and Guna have received over 1 inch of rain in the last 24 hours. The Bhopal district recorded 1.75 inches, Bhopal city 1.70 inches, Guna 1.48 inches, Gwalior 0.41 inches, Datia 0.35 inches, Umaria 0.24 inches, Shivpuri 0.23 inches, Raisen 0.11 inches, and Chhindwara 0.01 inches of rainfall.

The following districts have been put on heavy rain alert on the respective dates: Bhind, Morena, Sheopur Kalan, Katni, Panna, Damoh, Sagar, Tikamgarh, and Niwadi on June 21; Bhopal, Vidisha, Raisen, Sehore, Rajgarh, Betul, Harda, Dewas, Shajapur, Agar-Malwa, Rewa, Satna, Anuppur, Shahdol, Umaria, Dindori, Katni, Jabalpur, Narsinghpur, Chhindwara, and Panna on June 22; Narmadapuram, Betul, Dewas, Shajapur, and Agar-Malwa on June 23; and Ujjain, Dewas, Shajapur, Agar-Malwa, Guna, and Ashoknagar on June 24.
