New York: Excitement and euphoria have gripped many Indian Americans as Prime Minister Narendra Modi commenced his 4-day US tour. PM Modi reached New York today and received a rousing welcome from the Indian diaspora at the Hotel Lotte where he will be staying during his trip.
As PM Modi reached the New York city, he met the CEO of Tesla and SpaceEx. Elon Musk tweeted about his conversation with Narendra Modi and retweeted a tweet shared by PM Modi. “Great meeting you today Elon Musk! We had multifaceted conversations on issues ranging from energy to spirituality”, tweeted PM Modi.
He will attend Yoga Day celebrations at UN headquarters later during the day and hold talks with President Joe Biden. The following day he shall also meet business leaders, and interact with Indian community and meet thought leaders from different walks of life.
Thousands of Indian Americans are expected to attend the Welcome ceremony at the White House, where President Biden and Dr. Jill Biden will greet Modi. From June 21-24, PM Modi will engage ina series of events including a state hosted by President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden on June 22, and an address to the Joint Session of the US Congress on the same day.
