The cyclone made landfall near Jakhau Port in Gujarat’s Kutch district as a “very severe cyclonic storm,” accompanied by heavy rainfall and strong winds across the state. According to Manorama Mohanty, the Director of Ahmedabad’s Meteorological Department, Cyclone Biparjoy has weakened into a cyclonic storm and is expected to further weaken into a deep depression over the Saurashtra-Kutch region. After persisting in the Arabian Sea for ten days, the cyclone’s intensity has diminished, offering some relief to the affected areas.
