New Delhi– The Indian Navy recently showcased its formidable combat capabilities in a large-scale operation in the Arabian Sea. The exercise involved the participation of two aircraft carriers, multiple warships, submarines, and over 35 frontline planes, demonstrating strength amid China’s growing presence in the Indian Ocean region.
The INS Vikramaditya and the newly commissioned INS Vikrant, both aircraft carriers, played central roles in the operation. These floating airfields accommodated various aircraft, including MiG-29K fighter jets and helicopters like the MH60R, Kamov, and Advanced Light helicopters. The specifics of the exercise date were not disclosed.
The Indian Navy emphasised the seamless integration and coordination among the two aircraft carriers, fleet ships, and submarines. This successful demonstration showcased the pivotal role of sea-based air power and reaffirmed India’s position as a preferred security partner in the Indian Ocean and beyond.
A carrier battle group (CBG) consists of an aircraft carrier accompanied by a fleet of destroyers, frigates, and other ships.
