Breaking away from the popular trend of extravagant destination weddings, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman celebrated her daughter’s wedding with a heartfelt and intimate ceremony held at their home in Bengaluru. The event saw the presence of close family members and friends, while political heavyweights were notably absent.
The wedding of Ms Sitharaman’s daughter, Parakala Vangamayi, to Prateek followed the cherished customs of the Brahmin tradition, where the couple received blessings from revered seers of Udupi Adamaru Mutt. The bride looked resplendent in a pink saree, elegantly paired with a green blouse, while the groom donned a traditional white Pancha and shawl.
Ms Sitharaman, the bride’s mother, radiated grace in a Molakalmuru saree, adding to the overall charm of the occasion. The wedding ceremony adhered to the Vedic order of Adamaru Mutt, signifying a deep-rooted connection to tradition and spirituality.
The finance minister and her family demonstrated a departure from ostentation and a focus on cherished values and personal connections by choosing a private home wedding. The simplicity and warmth of the event created an environment where love and togetherness took centre stage, making it a truly memorable celebration for all involved.
