Raipur: The Chhattisgarh government presented its budget for 2023-24 with prime focus on social welfare, infrastructure development, and agriculture. Here’s a look into the benefits it had for its citizens.

Chief minister Bhupesh Baghel introduced the budget keeping in mind the three key points:

  • A focus on social welfare, with a significant increase in spending on education, health, and nutrition.

The Chhattisgarh government has also achieved many milestones in the recent past. These include; reducing poverty by half, increasing literacy rates, improving healthcare, boosting agricultural production, and attracting investment.

There are various milestones which the CM Baghel’s Government has achieved. Some of them are listed below:

  • Poverty Reduction: Chhattisgarh’s poverty rate has been greatly reduced since 2000. 
  • Increasing literacy rates: The Government has also done its best to improve the literacy rates. It was 54% earlier, but in 2022, it went to 72%. This is a significant improvement and a sign that the government is committed to providing quality education to all citizens.
  • Improving healthcare: The government has significantly invested in healthcare in recent years. 
  • Boosting agricultural production: The government has implemented several policies to boost agricultural production. This has led to an increase in agricultural productivity and an improvement in farmers’ incomes.
  • Attracting investment: The government has made several reforms to attract investment in the state. The budget for 2023-24 is a positive step forward, and it is expected to help the state achieve even greater heights in the coming years.
