Raipur: The Congress party is now set to commence its election preparations in the 12 assembly seats of Bastar. To kickstart this crucial phase, the Pradesh Congress Committee has organized a significant Bastar division conference scheduled for June 2. The convention will witness the presence of several prominent leaders, including Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Chhattisgarh in-charge Shailaja Kumari, PCC president Mohan Markam, Assembly Speaker Charan Das Mahant, and All India Congress Committee secretary Chandan Yadav.
This convention holds immense significance as it is considered the largest gathering of the Congress in Bastar ahead of the upcoming elections. The event will take place in Dharampura, located in Jagdalpur city. A key aspect of the convention will be the distribution of election responsibilities among the Congress party’s public representatives. Notably, the divisional conference will begin in Bastar and subsequently be held in Surguja, Bilaspur, Raipur, and Durg divisions.
Highlighting the schedule change, Bastar district president Rajiv Sharma revealed that the divisional conference was initially planned for May 26 but had to be rescheduled due to a high command meeting in Delhi.
The Bastar division conference marks a significant milestone in the Congress party’s election campaign, signaling their determination to make a strong electoral impact in the region.
