NEW DELHI: 20 year old Sahil who is accused of murdering a 16 year old girl whom he allegedly was in a relationship confessed to have committed the crime in a fit of rage and had no remorse.
The 16 year old who was attack by Sahil on Sunday evening while she was going to her friends house was stabbed 22 times and bludgeoned her to death by a rock in an act witnessed by dozens as per reports.
Earlier today, the Rohini court remanded Sahil to two-day police custody. Duty Metropolitan Magistrate Jyoti Nain granted two days’ remand after hearing the submissions of Delhi Police. The remand was sought for two reasons- missing knife, inconsistent statements by accused which were to be probed.
Sahil, an AC mechanic, was arrested from Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh yesterday. During his overnight investigation in police custody, he allegedly said the girl wanted to break up with him and that she was involved with a former boyfriend. He also claimed the ex-boyfriend was a hooligan, whom he feared. An FIR under Section 302 of the IPC at PS Shahbad Dairy, was registered against Sahil.
As per probe, Sahil was intoxicated while he committed the crime and was enraged as she was ignoring him since a while. The duo are said to have been in a relationship for three years. The crime surfaced, after the victims father lodged a complaint against Sahil. Following the murder, Sahil allegedly discarded the knife and his phone and took a bus to Bulandshahr, where he hid at his aunt’s home.
The grieving mother demanded a death sentence for the accused and said that the culprit should be hanged. She further claimed that her daughter said nothing about Sahil. The girl’s father said, “My daughter was stabbed many times, her head was also bludgeoned into pieces. We demand stringent punishment for the accused.”
