TELANGANA: Telengana CM KCR following a meeting with AAP Supremo and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday extended support to Kejriwal in his battle against the Centre’s ordinance on control of services in the national capital. Kejriwal was accompanied by his Punjab counterpart Bhagwant Mann, AAP leaders Raghav Chadha, Sanjay Singh and others at Hyderabad’s Pragati Bhawan
“The Centre is not letting the non-BJP governments function. In Delhi, the AAP is a very popular party. The AAP won the municipal elections. They (BJP) put hurdles and at last the Delhi government had to go to Supreme Court,” said KCR.
Urging Prime Minister Narendra Modi to withdraw the ordinance, KCR said, “We all support Arvind Kejriwal.”
Kejriwal since May 19th has been personally reaching out to chiefs of all political parties opposing the promulgated Ordinance issued by the centre so that any bill brought to replace the ordinance is defeated in Rajya Sabha.
Earlier he sought support West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray and NCP chief Sharad Pawar seeking their support in the matter.
In his pan India support, the grand old party, Centre’s biggest opponent was also approached. Party president Khagre and Rahul Gandhi as per sources will meet Kejriwal on Monday. However it is skeptical that the party would stand in solidarity with Kejriwal.
