Raipur: In a yet another daring robbery, some unidentified robbers looted an iron laden truck worth Rs 10 lakh near Tarpongi village on a national highway number-30 in Chhattisgarh state.
According to police sources, the incident took place in the wee hours of Wednesday, when an iron laden truck, bearing registration number CG 04 JC 8440, of Prakash Industries situated in Janjgir-Champa district was coming to Raipur for delivery of iron rods worth Rs 10 lakh. The miscreants forced the truck to stop and committed the loot, when the truck was passing near Tarpongi village comes under Urla police station limits in the state capital.
More than five miscreants driving speed utility vehicle (SUV), forced the truck driver by their SUV in-front of the iron laden truck.
The unidentified robbers caught hold of the truck driver, beat him up and then tied him to the roadside tree and decamped with the truck.
The truck driver somehow managed to free himself and came to the Urla police station and lodged a case against the unidentified robbers.
Meanwhile, Urla city superintendent of police (CSP) Abhishek Maheswari said that some unidentified miscreants have decamped with an iron laden truck. Police have lodged a case and further investigation has been initiated.
On June 16 this year, Chhattisgarh police had arrested seven accused in connection with a loot of two trucks along with goods besides kidnapping of a truck cleaner by the unidentified persons reported in the outskirts of the state capital on June 14 and June 12.
On June 14, truck driver Sahdev Singh Rajput (23) registered an FIR in connection with the loot of truck bearing registration number CG-04, MA-9834 and abduction of truck cleaner Amar Nath on ring road number-3 near Baroda Chowk comes under Vidhan Sabha police station limits of Raipur.
Also, another case was lodged on June 12 this year by one Anil Bhardwaj, native of Ghazipur from state of Uttar Pradesh related to loot of truck bearing registration number WB-23, B 8702 near a petrol pump at Umaria village comes under Mandir Hasaud police station limits of the state capital. Police lodged both the cases under relevant sections of IPC and started investigation.
Police had nabbed all the accused and recovered both the looted trucks, goods, three mobile phones, six buttons and sharp-edged knives, Indica car used in the loot, bike and cash to the tune of Rs 52 lakh. All the seven arrested accused are habitual offenders and have already gone to jail in many criminal cases. Police also rescued the abducted truck cleaner Amar Nath from the clutches of these accused.
