New Delhi: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heatwave warning in several regions of Maharashtra for the next few days. The heatwaves are still continuing in the region as most of the districts are experiencing a temperature above 40°C for the past few days and even weeks.

The temperature in Delhi was calm this morning, reaching somewhere above 25 degrees Celsius. But that didn’t last long as IMD has issued a dust storm warning during the daytime and the temperature will also rise till 40°C. The IMD reports also stated that moderate rain will take place in Northern Delhi, Sonipat, Gohana, Ganaur, and also some regions of Uttar Pradesh.

The IMD’s weather bulletin for Wednesday warns that maximum temperatures are set to rise by 2°C-3°C across many parts of northwest and central India from May 18. Coastal Andhra Pradesh is likely to experience heatwave conditions in isolated pockets on Wednesday.

Humid air and high temperatures are expected to make for hot and uncomfortable weather over Odisha, coastal West Bengal, Rayalaseema, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu on May 17-18. Konkan will also face similar conditions from May 18-20.

Dust-raising winds are predicted in isolated pockets over Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan on May 17-18. Additionally, dust storms are very likely in isolated pockets over Madhya Pradesh on May 17.
