NEW DELHI: A Delhi’s Rose Avenue court on Friday extended the judicial custody of a former Deputy Minister, Manish Sisodia arrested in connection with the liquor policy scam till June 2nd.

Sisode was produced before Special Judge MK Nagpal as his judicial custody tenure expired today. It kept the CBI charge sheet for consideration in the next hearing.

On March 31st the court rejected his bail plea submitting he was “prima facie the architect” of the criminal conspiracy behind the alleged payment of advance kickbacks of around Rs 90-100 crore meant for him and his colleagues in the Delhi government.

While responding to questions by the media following the extension, Sisodia raised his constitutional rights. He said that PM Modi should follow the constitutions in response to questions on the latest judgment.

On Thursday, the Delhi HC extended the judicial custody of Amdandeep Dhall and reserved the bail plea of Manish Sisodia. Sisodia had sought interim bail on grounds of his wife’s illness. However, the HC bench directed the concerned SP to connect Sisodia with his wife via video conferencing every alternate day for an hour between 3-4 pm.

Sisodia’s wife has been suffering from a spine ailment and was hospitalized at a private hospital after her health deteriorated previously.
