New Delhi: India’s ace wrestler Vinesh Phogat who has been protesting at Jantar Mantar with other top grapplers against the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, said that it is tough to stand against a powerful person who is misusing his position and power since a long time.

She further alleged that Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur tried to suppress the matter by forming an oversight panel instead of taking a concrete step. Now, as the protest has reached its second phase, wrestlers are demanding the arrest of Brij Bhushan who is also a BJP MP.

Wrestler Bajrang Punia addressed the allegations that they are protesting against the new rules introduced for the Olympic selection. Vinesh Phogat has claimed that the issue is not about Olympic selection, but about sexual harassment.

Meanwhile, Brij Bhushan has refused from resigning as he believes resignation would mean accepting the allegations.
