INDORE: A special court in Indore on Friday sent the nephew of former BJP minister Prakash Sonkar and Congress leader himself Kapil Sonkar along with five others to life imprisonment in connection to the killing of a person in 2011. The others included Tanveer, Devendra, Kalu alias Pappu, Jaipal Singh and Bhupendra alias Dharmendra Thakur.
As per sources, the murder was carried out of rivalry in 2011. Investigation revealed the deceased Hammal Manohar Verma was shot dead Kailash Kuti Ware House Road Siyaganj. Police said that he was cslled for a discourse, however as the talks turned into a heated argument, the accused Sonakr and his associates surrounded him following which they shot him.
He was declared dead on arrival at the hospital, DPO Sanjeev Shrivastava said.
The police named Kapil an accused for hatching the murder conspiracy following which he became an absconder and could not be arrested for several months. He later surrendered himself following which his judicial proceedings began.
