Delhi: Operation Kaveri, launched by the Indian Government to rescue the Indians from Sudan, completed its first round on Wednesday, 26 April. The first flight was unique, and it carried a total of 360 nationals. This flight landed in Delhi on Wednesday, and the rescued nationals were too happy.
They chanted slogans “Bharat Mata ki Jai,” “PM Narendra Modi Zindabad,” and “Indian Army Zindabad”. Dr. S Jaishankar, the External Affairs Minister of India, also tweeted regarding the same, saying that, “India welcomes back its own. Operation Kaveri brings 360 nationals to the homeland as the first flight reaches New Delhi.”
An Indian National, who returned from Sudan, said to the media, “The Indian Government supported us a lot. It is a big thing that we reached here safely as it was very dangerous. I thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Indian Government.”
The Indian Government has successfully established a transit facility to rescue all the nationals living in Sudan. The government is also in touch with some private airlines to complete the evacuation as soon as possible.
