Resilient 27-year-old Unwed Mother Rescued After Being Sold for Rs. 1.5 Lakh in Yavatmal

Yavatmal: An Unwed Mother who was just 27 years old has recently been rescued by the Police after she was sold for 1.5 lakhs to a man with the promise of providing a job and exploiting her sexually. She went to Ujjain for a job, and the man harassed her while looking for a regular job.

According to the reports, she lives in a rented home with her 11-year-old daughter and works daily to earn bread. Riyabai, who lives in Chandrapur, had promised to give her a regular and stable job in Ujjain, and being lured by the job, the woman left for Ujjain leaving her daughter alone on 12 April. 

The Police officials said that she was taken to Pidsava Village, where Riyabai handed her to Neetu Mali and three others. The woman was asked to go with them, and later she found out that she had been sold for a total of 1.5 lakhs by Riyabai to Neetu Mali. He started harassing her sexually and threatened to take her life if she shouted.

Somehow the woman managed to call her daughter and explain to her about the scene on 17 April. Her daughter told about it to her grandmother, who took the matter to Ramnagar Police. The PSO of Maregaon, Rajesh Puri, went into action, and the victim was rescued. The Police are still looking for the accused, and FIR has been registered against them.
