NEW DELHI: Registering a drop for the third day straight, India added 6,660 fresh COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours. The total active cases that comprises of 0.14 per cent accounted for 63,380. As per the updates by MOHFW, the cumulative infection tally stood at 4.49 crore.
The daily positivity rate was reported at 3.52% and the weekly positivity rate was pegged at 5.42%.
The case fatality stood at 1.18 per cent accounting for 5,31,369. A total of 24 fatalities were recorded in the last 24 hours. Four deaths were reported from Punjab, three added from Delhi, two each in Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka and one each in Bihar, Haryana, Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu. Kerala reconciled nine deaths.
With the national recovery rate at 98.67 per cent, the number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 4,43, 11,078.
According to the ministry’s website, 220.66 crore doses of Covid vaccine have been administered in the country so far under the nationwide vaccination drive.
Delhi on Monday logged 689 fresh Covid-19 infections and three fatalities with a case positivity rate of 29.42, according to data shared by the Health department.
