Mumbai: Yash Chopra’s wife Pamela Chopra passed away today morning at the age of 85 years. Last seen in YRF documentary The Romantics where she spoke about her and her husband’s journey, she was a well-known Indian playback singer. Besides, she was a film writer and producer too.
Over the years, she has won millions of hearts with her melodious voice and was involved in the music of many films that were made by legend Yash Chopra. She has worked as a writer, dress designer, and a co-producer in many YRF movies. She is now survived by her two sons Aditya Chopra and Uday Chopra.
Films she has sung songs include Kabhie Kabhie (1976), Chandni (1989), and Mujhse Dosti Karoge (2002) to name a few. She also produced the movie Aaina in 1993 independently and was a co-writer on Dil To Pagal Hai (1997) along with Yash Copra, Aditya and Tanuja Chandra.
Pamela Chopra was a frequent collaborator with her late husband and often was credited as the writer, costumes designer, and singer in some of the popular YRF films. One of her most famous songs was Chandni’s ‘Main Sasural Nahi Jaungi” and Dilwane Dulhania Le Jayenge.
